If you’ve read some of our recent blog posts, you’ve probably caught on that Botkier New York has spent the last 15 years creating it-bags for it-girls (that are, of course, on the go). While we’ve grown immensely over the past 15 years (from bags to shoes and beyond), one bag has stood the test of time. Enter, the Trigger; an icon of a bag that came onto the scene in 2003. At the time, there was nothing else like it. The edgy trapeze style satchel had everyone buzzing, and before you knew it, a brand was born.
Since the launch of the Trigger bag, the brand has evolved tremendously in a sometimes hard-to-compete contemporary market but we’ve always held a special place in our heart for the beloved Trigger bag. While the style isn’t identical to that of 15 years ago, we’ve found ways to incorporate new design aspects to keep the classic bag updated as we grow from season to season.
Trigger Backpack
With the launch of our current spring collection, the Trigger has once again been elevated to fit with the times, but the original bag’s distinctive face still lives on. You know the one, with a pointed flap and those long leather zipper tassels. Keeping with our street style aesthetic, the updated version now features a chunky chain link as a front closure and has branched out into a variety of other silhouettes fit for every mood. The crossbody and satchel feature a sporty web strap (which can be removed) creating versatility, while the backpack’s functional features are perfect for day-to-day life.

Botkier New York has definitely come a long way over the last 15 years, but with the legacy of the Trigger and a bevvy of updated designs, we know one thing’s for sure. It just keeps getting better. And we plan to keep it that way.
