Ah, Spring in New York - it’s a special time when the city starts to buzz with excitement over longer, brighter days and a much-needed shift to warmer weather and lighter layers. Not only does the equinox mark a fresh start (think a closet overhaul), but it’s also the official re-launch of our social era. Sunshine really brings out our inner hostess and what better way to celebrate the season than a stylish soiree with your fam? Whether you’re planning the perfect Easter brunch or a casual get together, we’ve put together a list of some brand faves to prep you for hosting guests in style.
Our Style Picks
The LBD is our main personality trait year round. This black mini is the perfect daytime brunch dress that will easily transition out for the afterparty. For a dressed up look, pair with accessories in pops of purple for spring - we’re loving this lilac block heel with our Valentina flat crossbody in complementary lavender. If you’re going casual, try a monochromatic look with black slides and the Cobble Hill expander crossbody in a pale shade of pink, paired with simple gold huggies to pull the full look together.
Our Table Top Picks
When it comes to creating the ultimate spring tablescape, we’re looking to our new collection of spring handbags for inspiration. The palette is light & airy with shades of lilac, blue, blush mixed in with neutral tones - the perfect combo for a picturesque brunch setting. Bring this palette to life with a mix of colorful glassware and tall, tapered candles that are accented by a beautiful floral centerpiece. We’re currently obsessing over anything from Estelle Colored Glass, especially the coupe glasses that match our collection of lavender, rose, and blue spring styles. These are perfect for serving a pretty spring-themed cocktail (or mocktail) to guests and make the whole table pop. Take it a step further by pairing with a colored glass cake stand to elevate the best part of the meal…dessert, duh. You can easily create a gorgeous centerpiece using fresh flowers and/or greenery - whether you’re in the market for a pricey bouquet, grabbing a few bunches from your local bodega, or picking some from your garden you really can’t go wrong.
Our Menu Picks
When planning a party, the first thing that comes to mind is the menu. Regardless of what your food focal point is, there are two things that are always a must - an on-theme drink & dessert. Lucky you, we’ve got recipes for both that are sure to impress. The first is a cocktail from none other than one of our fave foodies, Tieghan Gerard of Half Baked Harvest. The girl truly does no wrong when it comes to crafting some of our go-to meals, but she also knows how to mix up a killer cocktail. For the sake of spring, we’re sharing Tieghan’s recipe for a Blueberry Lemon Thyme Smash. Not only is it delish but it also matches our color palette so…win/win.
For dessert, we love something sweet that can complement any meal whether it be brunch, dinner or otherwise. In this case, obsessed is an understatement when it comes to this Vegan Olive Oil Cake by Sarah McMinn of My Darling Vegan. Even if you’re not vegan, or have any preconceived notions about a vegan dessert we will tell you that this cake is un.real. It’s super easy to make, subtly sweet and has just the right amount of lemon zest for a light & fresh dessert option for any time of day.
